Ulaanbaatar, October 17, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The State Puppet Theatre is set to present its new production “Odyssey,” a plastic puppet play inspired by the ancient Greek epic of the same name by the legendary poet Homer.
Distinctive for being created specifically for adult audiences, the performance reimagines the timeless tale of Odysseus through the expressive language of modern puppet and plastic theatre. The creators noted that the project aims to challenge the traditional notion that puppet theatre is only for children, offering instead a profound artistic experience for adults that brings a new dimension and opportunity to Mongolian theatre.
The play is written and directed by B. Ankhbaatar, featuring A. Bilguun, B.
Bulgan, B. Bilguun, and P. Erdenezaya as Odysseus. The role of Queen Penelope
will be performed by E. Bud-Erdene, Ts. Erdenetsetseg, and E.Bilguun.
