Ulaanbaatar, October 15, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Finance Javkhlan Bold announced that “MNT 831 billion will be required to increase the salaries of teachers and doctors, as well as pensions for pensioners” on October 15, 2025.

Minister Javkhlan stated, “After consultations with the leadership of the Standing Committee on Budget of the State Great Khural (Parliament) and Economy, as well as members of the State Great Khural actively supporting the rights of teachers and healthcare workers, the Government has reached a principled decision to reduce non-essential expenditures and increase teachers’ salaries by 15-20 percent, doctors’ salaries by 10-15 percent, and pensioners’ pensions by 8 percent. To finance these increases, we plan to cut operational costs of budgetary governors by 10 percent.”

“The decision does not mean the Government has additional reserves,” he clarified. “It simply reallocates funds from one operational area to another. As a result, about 10 percent of our planned financing will remain uncovered. Despite the challenge, the Government has resolved to proceed with this measure and submit it to the State Great Khural for deliberation on the 2026 state budget.”

He emphasized that “there will be no inflationary impact, and child allowance will remain unaffected.”
