Chairman of Mongolian-Cuban Parliamentary Group Meets Cuban Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar, October 10, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Mongolian-Cuban Parliamentary Group, Shijir Ulziikhuu, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Mongolia, Jorge Rodríguez.
During the meeting, Chairman Shijir highlighted that Mongolia and Cuba have developed a traditional friendship, cooperation, solidarity, and mutual support over the past 65 years of diplomatic relations. He noted that during Ambassador Rodríguez’s tenure, President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa paid an official visit to Cuba to participate in the G77 Summit, while Member of the Cuban National Assembly Mariela Castro took part in the World Women’s Conference organized in Mongolia, both of which marked significant milestones in the history of bilateral relations.
Ambassador Rodríguez expressed his gratitude to Chairman Shijir for receiving him as he prepares to conclude his diplomatic mission and return permanently to his home country. He expressed confidence that the traditional friendly relations between the two countries will continue to expand in the future. The Ambassador also commended Mongolia’s effective policies in overcoming global challenges stemming from international tensions and the post-COVID-19 economic crisis. He emphasized that Mongolia’s experience is valuable for Cuba to address its current social issues caused by economic difficulties.
Ambassador Rodríguez extended his sincere appreciation to Chairman Shijir and all members of the Mongolia-Cuban Parliamentary Group for their support and cooperation during his tenure in Mongolia, and wished success for their future endeavors, according to the Press and Public Media Department of the Parliament.
