Ulaanbaatar, October 9, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations, Ankhbayar Nyamdorj, delivered a speech during the General Debate of the Third Committee - responsible for social, humanitarian, and cultural affairs - at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly on October 6, 2025.

In his remarks, Ambassador Ankhbayar emphasized that the session was taking place at a pivotal moment, as the upcoming Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2) in Doha, Qatar, and the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action underscore the urgent need to accelerate efforts in social development, gender equality, and the empowerment of women and girls.

Mongolia’s policies and initiatives, aligned with national development frameworks such as “Vision 2050” and the Government’s Action Program for 2024-2028, were outlined during the speech. These efforts aim to strengthen the legal environment for social development, including protecting the rights of youth, the elderly, and persons with disabilities; expanding access to essential social services such as education and healthcare; and ensuring fair employment conditions, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
