Construction Work on 41 Hectares of Selbe Sub-Center Project Open for the Private Sector

Ulaanbaatar, June 12, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Construction of Ulaanbaatar City’s first model “20-Minute City” commenced in May 2025, covering 158 hectares and 2,206 land plots across Chingeltei and Sukhbaatar districts. In this regard, proposals are now being accepted for private sector collaboration on development projects under the “Selbe 20-Minute City.”  

Chief Executive Officer of the “Selbe 20-Minute City” Corporation U. Baatar noted, “We are offering investment opportunities in economically viable locations within the Selbe Sub-Center Land Clearance and Ger Area Housing Project. Starting from June 9, 2025, we are officially accepting partnership proposals and expressions of interest through our website, selbecity.mn. A total of 41 hectares across 26 designated areas will be introduced into economic circulation through public-private partnerships. At present, we are finalizing the partnership framework, and private companies are invited to submit proposals within a 10-day period.”

The Selbe Sub-Center is envisioned as Mongolia’s first model “20-Minute City,” designed to provide integrated social and cultural services to approximately 45,610 residents. The development plan includes 113 residential complexes for around 10,000 households, 18 kilometers of roadways, 43 kilometers of pedestrian pathways, 28 kilometers of bicycle lanes, 3.6 hectares of playgrounds, three schools, five kindergartens, a healthcare center, and a sports complex. Furthermore, 40 percent of the total area will be allocated to green spaces.
