ТАSHKENT 2022: Tsogtbaatar became World Champion

/MONTSAME/. An Olympic
medalist in Tokyo, Tsogtbaatar Tsend-Ochir became world champion at weight -73kg in Tashkent World
Championships Senior 2022.
In the preliminaries, he defeated Israeli Levin by penalty, Romanian
Sulca by two waza-ari, and Canadian Margelidon by shido (block with one hand)
and ippon. He carried him off with the same technique at Tokyo Olympic Games
and won a bronze medal.
In the semi-final, he defeated Italian Manuel Lombardo, former number one in the ranking and European champion by waza-ari, and secured a world medal.
In
the final, Tsogtbaatar won World Champion Soichi Hashimoto by waza-ari at the additional
time and became the fifth Judoka who won a gold medal at World Championships.

Kh. Tsagaanbaatar (2009), M. Urantsetseg (2013), G. Boldbaatar (2014), D.
Sumiya (2017) became world champions.
