Horse racing events at Khui 7 Khudag postponed due to rain

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A series of events celebrating the Naadam Festival on the occasion of the 2229th anniversary of Foundation of the first Mongolian Statehood, 814th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire and 99th anniversary of People’s Revolution of Mongolia started on July 9, with the ceremony of the Nine White Banners and on July 10, today with the ceremony for raising the State Flag on the central square. 


Knucklebone shooting and archery tournaments and horse racing events were planned to be held today. However, horse racing events, have been postponed until July 13 to protect the safety of child jockeys to participate in the races as heavy rains are continuing across the region.  The horse races, one of three main traditional sports events of Naadam, were scheduled today at the Khui 7 Khudag Valley on the outskirt of Ulaanbaatar city. 


The postponed races are: 


07.00-11.00: Four-year-old horse (Khyazaalan) race at Khui Doloon Khudag

12.00-14.30: Half-bred horses’ race at Khui Doloon Khudag

15.00-18:00: Three-year-old horse (Shudlen) race at Khui Doloon Khudag
