National bandy team wins match against the team of Japan

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The 2020 World Bandy Championship kicked off in Irkutsk, Russia on March 1. Teams are divided into two divisions, with the teams of Sweden, Russia, Finland, Kazakhstan, Norway, the U.S., Germany, and Estonia in Division A, and the teams of Great Britain, Japan, Latvia, Mongolia, Slovakia, and Somalia in Division B. The matches for Division B are to be held between March 1 and 6, while Division A will be held between March 28 and April 5.
The national men’s team was put into Pool B with the teams of Japan, Latvia, Slovakia, and Somalia. On the first day, they matched against the teams of Somalia and Slovakia, coming out victorious over both teams with the scores of 10-0 and 4-0 respectively.
On the second day of the championship, our national team was put in a match against the Japanese team. The match attracted quite a bit of attention from those interested in the sport as the Japanese team had also won against the Somalian team with a score of 9-0.
The first goal was made by the team captain G.Tamir through a penalty shot 23 minutes into the game. Despite not making many offensive attacks, the opposing side was able to even out the score by swiftly going on the offensive near the end of the first half.
In the second half, G.Tamir made a showcase of his skills in the midst of the continuous fight over the ball. The second goal was made at 38 minutes, which became the match deciding goal as no other goals were made by both teams afterward.
With no losses, the Mongolian team is leading the ranking in Pool B. They will be playing against the team of Latvia today.
