Judoka G.Kherlen becomes champion of Montreal Grand Prix 2019

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Mongolia’s
judoka G.Kherlen won a gold medal at the Montreal Grand Prix 2019 that took
place in Montreal, Canada on July 5-7.
In the 66 kg weight class,
he won his first match against a Brazilian athlete by an ippon in 1 minute and
36 seconds, then went on to win his next matches against Canadian and Irish
athletes by wazari, qualifying for the finals.
In the final, he won his
opponent Kenneth van Gansbeke of Belgium by penalties. With this, it is the
third time he has become the champion of a Grand Prix tournament.
