Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene Expresses Gratitude to Russia for Humanitarian Assistance

Ulaanbaatar, April 8, 2024. /MONTSAME/. On March 5, 2024, Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Mongolia Yevsikov Alexei Nikolaevich.

 

At the outset of the meeting, Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene extended condolences, on behalf of the Mongolian Government, over the loss of innocent lives and injuries to many civilians following the tragic terrorist attack that occurred on March 21, 2024, at the "Crocus City Hall" in Krasnogorsk, Moscow. The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to the Russian Government for providing 8,500 tons of fodder wheat as humanitarian aid to alleviate the challenges brought by dzud. The Premier emphasized the significant role of this aid in supporting Mongolian herders during these difficult times.

 

The discussion focused on the importance of solemnly commemorating the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Khalkhiin Gol and the 75th anniversary of the Ulaanbaatar Railway Mongolia-Russia Joint Venture.

 

Furthermore, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral trade relations. Mr. Oyun Erdene expressed commitment to creating conditions that facilitate trade between the two countries, pursuing collaboration on major construction projects and programs in the infrastructure and energy sectors as well as intensifying cooperation in humanitarian endeavors.
