Governor of the Bank of Mongolia Participates in Asian Financial Forum

Ulaanbaatar, January 26, 2024 /MONTSAME/.  The 17th Asian Financial Forum took place on January 24-25, 2024 in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Governor of the Bank of Mongolia Lhagvasuren Byadran participated as a guest speaker.


The Forum themed Multilateral Cooperation for a Shared Tomorrow brought together 3,000 finance and business delegates to engage in meaningful, forward-looking conversations and find ways to collaborate for success on today’s most pressing issues.

In his presentation at the plenary session “Policy Dialogue- Towards International Economic and Financial Cooperation”, Governor Lhagvasuren highlighted the conditions and opportunities created within the legal framework to attract investment in the financial sector, and the development of fintech and green financing in Mongolia.

 

The session discussed how to maintain financial system stability amidst changes in monetary policies, fluctuations in commodity prices, and frequent extreme weather events. The guest speakers in this session included Burkhard Balz, Member of the Executive Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank; Lkhagvasuren Byadran, Governor of the Central Bank of Mongolia; Thomas Helbling, Deputy Director of the Asia and Pacific Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF); Ian Johnston, Chief Executive of the Dubai Financial Services Authority; and Scott Morris, Vice President of the Asian Development Bank. They exchanged insights on issues such as how to respond to global financial crises through multilateral cooperation.


The Governor of the Bank of Mongolia met high officials of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and representatives from Mirae Asset financial group, reported the Bank of Mongolia.
