Big temperature drop expected throughout the country

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The National Agency for Meteorology and Environment has issued a warning for dust and snow storms starting from the country’s western region tomorrow on November 3. 

 

Snowfall is expected in western parts of western aimags and northwestern parts of central aimags tomorrow on November 3, in most parts of western and central aimags on November 4, in eastern parts of western aimags, most parts of Gobi and central aimags, and in some parts of eastern aimags on November 5, and southern parts of central aimags and most parts of Gobi and eastern aimags on November 6.

 

Wind speed will mostly be 18-20 m/sec, reaching 24 m/sec at times causing dust and snow storms. 

 

With a big temperature drop expected to begin from the western region on November 3, in the depression of Darkhad, in the mountainous areas of Altai, Khangai, Khuvsgul, and Khentei, in the head of Zavkhan river, near Khurenbelchir, and in the basins of Ider, Tes, Tuul, and Terelj rivers, the temperature will range from -25 to -30 degrees Celsius during the night, and -10 to -15 during the day.

 

In the southern Gobi region, the night-time temperature will be -10 to -15 degrees Celsius, and the daytime temperature will be 0 to -5 degrees Celsius.

 

In other areas, temperatures are expected to be -18 to -23 during the night, and -6 to -11 during the day.
