4.8 magnitude quake reported again in Khankh soum

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Yesterday evening or at 19:10 pm, January 13, a 4.8 magnitude quake was recorded again in Khankh soum, Khuvsgul aimag,


Head of Department of Seismology of the Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics M.Ulziibat said “Generally, quakes are occurring in several aimags. Latest strong one was a 3.8 magnitude quake occurred at 20:01 pm, January 13 in a place located 18 km southwest of Khankh soum. Prior to it, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake was reported at 19:10 pm in the soum. Moreover, a 3.1 magnitude quake was newly recorded at 19:07 pm, January 13, in a place in distance of 13 km east of Bayan-Ulgii aimag center. Although it was not a strong quake, all residents of Ulgii city felt tremor."
