‘The Lock with a Password’ locked and opened by names of the local area

Sukhbaatar /MONTSAME/. ‘The Lock with a Password’, a work by one of the famous Dariganga craftsmen Dondov Sharav, is currently being kept at the Ethnography Museum of Sukhbaatar. It is considered as one of the rare exhibits of the museum as the lock is locked and opened by the names of the local area.
To put it differently, you have to form a word to lock and open it. The password for opening the lock is ‘Sukhbaatar’ with the number 10 after it, while the password for locking it is ‘Dariganga’ with also the number 10 afterwards.
The famous craftsman created the work for the ‘10 days of Culture and Arts’ event organized to promote Sukhbaatar aimag. Considered to have been made in 1963-1964, it is the first ever lock with a password created in Mongolia.
Craftsman Sh.Dondov lived between the years of 1912 and 1984.
