'Parasite' wins Ulaanbaatar Film Festival Award 'Falcon'

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Ulaanbaatar City Mayor’s Office, Arts and Culture Department of the Capital City and Arts Council of Mongolia jointly organized the 11th edition of Ulaanbaatar International Film Festival in cooperation with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation /SDC/, the Embassy of Germany, the Embassy of France, the Embassy of Australia, Goethe-Institute Mongolia, Nomadia Pictures Co.,Ltd. 


The Film Festival screened 15 international award winning films from around the world from October 14 to 20. Among them, audience award ‘Falcon’ went to South Korean film ‘Parasite’ directed by film director and script writer Bong Joon-ho. The Festival’s award Falcon will fly to South Korea from Ulaanbaatar soon.


Last week, 'Khangarid' (Khan Garuda) national award ceremony of the film festival was organized with the ‘I am the Sun’  film by J.Sengedorj won the Best Picture award.  In addition, within the framework of the festival, international experts conducted four-day script writing workshop for 10 Mongolian film projects. From them, 'Water Garden' film project was selected as the best project and was awarded with a right to utilize Cineplus.mn lighting equipment worth MNT 3 million.
