‘Japan Festival in Mongolia 2019’ to take place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The biggest event to promote Japanese culture in Mongolia ‘Japan Festival in Mongolia 2019’ will take place in Ulaanbaatar this weekend, on August 17-18.

The event is being co-organized by the Embassy of Japan in Mongolia and the Government implementing agencies of Japan including the External Trade Organization, Japan Fund and the National Tourism Organization. Previously, it has been organized as ‘Japanese Pop Cultural Days’ since 2012. This year, the festival broadens its scope presenting not only pop culture, but also Japanese traditional culture, art, food, technology and goods.

It aims to present Japanese culture and arts to the people of Mongolia, improve people-to-people relations between the two countries and bringing bilateral business cooperation to a new stage.

In addition to cosplay and anime song contest, the festival will feature a concert of Japanese artists. Bands including Festive, Wonder Weed and one of the top Japanese bands The World Standart will perform at the festival.
