Khovd aimag to cooperate with the EU

Khovd /MONTSAME/ The EU cooperation team leader in Mongolia Pierre-Yves Lucas paid a visit to Khovd aimag to meet with the Governor and authorities of relevant organizations.
Within the frames of the EU funded ‘Support to Employment Creation in Mongolia (SECiM-2) project implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) jointly with the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and UNFAO, the subproject ‘Improving the quality of sheep wool’ launched in Khovd aimag in June 2019. The subproject is being implemented jointly with the local herders cooperative ‘The peak of the Altai Mountains’. During the meeting, the parties discussed operation directions of the subproject, stabilizing the local price of wool and increasing value-adding to the wool production and export.
Views were exchanged on promoting local youth employment, creating more job vacancies, assisting the establishment of plants for meat and meat products, leather and forage processing.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to include the funding for proposed projects in the EU strategic plan for investment.
