Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Slight snow and blizzard are expected in northern areas of western aimag and in some areas of central aimags on January 17, and in eastern parts of central aimags and in northern parts of eastern aimags on January 18.
Wind speed will be 5-10m/sec most of the time. However, it will get stronger in areas of eastern aimags, reaching 12-14m/s on January 18-19.
The areas such as the depression of Uvs lake and Darkhad, the head of Zavkhan river and the basins of Ider and Tes rivers will have an extremely cold nighttime temperature -39 to -44 degrees Celsius. Whereas the daytime temperature will be -29 to -34 degrees Celsius.
In mountainous areas of Khangai, Khuvsgul, Khentei, Khurenbelchir, in the banks of Orkhon-Selenge and in the basins of Kharaa, Yuruu, Tuul, Terelk, Kherlen, Onon, Ulz and Khalkh rivers, the nighttime temperature will be -30 to -35, the daytime temperature will be -16 to -21 degrees Celsius respectively.
The nighttime temperature will be -16 to -21 in southern parts of gobi region and sun-warmed areas. The daytime temperature will remain the same as the previous week -4 to -9 degrees Celsius.
In other areas, the nighttime temperature will be -23 to -28 and the daytime temperature will be -10 to -15 degrees Celsius.
