Members of European Parliament to visit Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONSTAME/ Members of the Parliament N.Oyundari and L.Bold received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Mongolia Traian Laurentiu Hristea.

At the meeting the parties exchanged views on bilateral relation, current cooperation, ongoing projects and programs, and discussed on the official visit of European Parliament members to Mongolia on September 19-21.

The sides underlined the importance of close cooperation in implementation of the works agreed at the 18th Joint Committee meeting between the EU and Mongolia held in April in Brussels. MP N.Oyundari and L.Bold emphasized that issues regarding society, politics, economy and human rights need to be discussed during the visit of European Parliament members and pay close attention to intensification of cooperation between private sectors.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Mongolia Traian Laurentiu Hristea noted that cooperation between EU and Mongolia is developing and expanding year by year. “EU focuses on enhancing relations and cooperation with Mongolia. I am confident that numerous regional cooperation issues will be discussed and optimal decisions will be made at the upcoming visit. I support your proposals on subjects to be discussed during the visit,” he said.
 
MP N.Oyundari requested the Ambassador to enhance previous agreements between Mongolia and the EU and pay close attention to intensification of cooperation in business sector, exports and imports.

MP L.Bold said “Next year will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the EU and Mongolia. The appointment of the Ambassador to Mongolia is the clear expression of our close partnership development.” He expressed his readiness to support bilateral cooperation in all aspects.
