Cabinet makes some decisions on border checkpoint and coal

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Cabinet meeting held Thursday discussed some urgent issues concerning coal transportation and then made relevant decisions.

As of today, 6,331 vehicles of 104 companies hold a special permission to transport coal from Umnugobi aimag. With this capacity, Mongolia is projected to export 24.2 million tons of coal in 2017. As of July, the country transported 50.3% of them.

In case of transporting the remaining 24.2 million tons, at least 1,600 vehicles will be required for the transportation in due time. Thus, the Cabinet made the decisions to resolve some issues in the coal transportation.

Accordingly, obligations were given to the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Justice and Home Affairs to improve the carrying capacity of the Gashuunsukhait-Gants mod border checkpoints. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Justice and Home Affairs and the Minister of Road, Transport Development were ordered to consult with the Chinese side issues of abolishing barriers in the coal export.

Other obligations were given to the Ministers to completely stop works of the customs checking area of the Tsagaankhad checkpoint.
