NEMA First Deputy Head meets Major General Laurie Hummel

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Brigadier-General G.Ariunbuyan, the First Deputy Head of the National Emergency Management Office (NEMA), met Thursday a delegation headed by Major General Laurie Hummel, the Adjutant General of the US Alaska National Guard and the Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Military & Veterans’ Affairs.

At the beginning of the meeting, the sides discussed the ties and cooperation between the NEMA and the Alaska National Guard, and noted about successful organization of the “Gobi Wolf” international exercises took place last May in Mongolia.

An issue was considered on training Mongolian emergency servants to gain experiences in Alaska. Brigadier-General G.Ariunbuyan noted he intends to improve English language skills of emergency staff and rescuers by involving them in re-training. It was appreciated by the Major-General. She then promised to pay her attention to this matter.

Following the meeting, the US delegation got familiarized with activities of emergency units at the NEMA.
