Presidential debate postponed to June 17

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian Broadcasting Union on Saturday informed that the first debate of the 2017 Presidential election was postponed as DP candidate Kh.Battulga was unable to partake.
 
The debate, an initiative of the Mongolian Broadcasting Union, was supposed to take place under the theme ‘Legal affairs – Justice’ at the Central Cultural Palace at 8PM on Saturday, June 10. The debate will be held next Saturday, June 17, reported the Union.
 
On Saturday, June 10, DP Secretary O.Magnai told journalists that candidate Kh.Battulga would have participated in the debate if the invitation was sent a week earlier. “We received the Mongolian Broadcasting Union’s invitation yesterday. As such, Kh.Battulga won’t be partaking in the debate”, he said.
 
The Mongolian Broadcasting Union plans to organize two debates among Presidential candidates M.Enkhbold (MPP), Kh.Battulga (DP) and S.Ganbaatar (MPRP) which will be broadcasted live on 16 TV channels.
 
The union conducted an online poll to choose a moderator for the debate, and commentator D.Jargalsaikhan, known as Jargal Defacto, anchor E.Lkhagva of Mongol TV and commentator D.Enkhbat received the highest votes.
