Ulaanbaatar, December 4, 2025 /MONTSAME/. At the regular session of the Cabinet of Mongolia on December 3, a briefing on recent increases in the prices of goods and services and the current inflation situation was presented.
Following the briefing, Prime Minister of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gombojav instructed the establishment of a Task Force for the Prevention of Artificial Price Rise, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Dorjkhand Togmid, to prevent artificial price increases, and assigned the relevant ministries and agencies to work in coordination.
In accordance with the laws on the Fiscal Framework Statement for the 2026 Consolidated Budget of Mongolia and the Budget Assumptions for 2027–2028, the medium-term target is to reduce the inflation rate to 5 percent.
As a result of campaigns such as “Food Revolution” and
“Atar-4,” which aim at developing intensified livestock farming and increasing
domestic food production and supply, food price inflation is expected to ease in
the medium term.
