Ulaanbaatar, November 18, 2025 /MONTSAME/. In accordance with the Government-approved Regulation on Awarding the D. Natsagdorj Literary Prize, a working group composed of literary scholars, critics, and researchers established by the order of the Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth has selected this year’s winners.

The D. Natsagdorj Literary Prize, first established in 1966, is awarded to writers, poets, researchers, translators, and critics whose works make a significant contribution to the development of Mongolian literature. It is also conferred on foreign individuals who play an important role in promoting Mongolian literature abroad.

Traditionally presented every two years, the prize was awarded today for the 86th time.

The 2025 D. Natsagdorj Literary Prize winners are:

  • Poet D. Gan-Ochir for his poetry collection "Oddyn Ai" (A Constellation of Stars)
  • Writer Ch. Narantsetseg for her children’s book "Tungalag Ungu" (Pure Colors)
  • Japanese scholar Kazuyuki Okada, for his research work "Altan haraatsai" (The Golden Swallow), on the literary legacy of D. Natsagdorj
A notable highlight of this year’s awards is the recognition of Professor Kazuyuki Okada, President of the Society of Mongolian Literature in Japan, whose long-standing contributions to D. Natsagdorj studies were formally acknowledged.

Professor Okada has translated the author’s major works into Japanese and has played a consistent role in introducing and disseminating Mongolian literature to readers in Japan and beyond.
