/MONTSAME/. The Ulaanbaatar City Governor’s Office, in cooperation with the
World Bank, plans to implement the project “Ulaanbaatar Flood Risk Reduction
and Sewer Rehabilitation Project.”
Under the project, 102 kilometers
of flood protection dams, canals, and engineering structures will be expanded
across 17 locations, and 50 kilometers of sewer pipelines and manholes will be
relined. The initiative aims to improve the quality and resilience of the
city’s sanitation infrastructure, reduce flood risks caused by climate change,
and ensure a safe and healthy living environment for residents.
A grant agreement worth USD 1.3
million from the World Bank was approved for the project’s feasibility study
and detailed design, and a contract for implementation was signed on October
29, 2025.
