Asia Reference Center for Election Observation to Be Established in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, June 12, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The General Election Commission of Mongolia and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of an Asia Reference Center for Election Observation in Mongolia.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Chairman of the General
Election Commission of Mongolia Delgernaran Purevee and Secretary General
of the International IDEA Kevin Casas-Zamora on June 10, 2025, at the
International IDEA office in Stockholm, Sweden.
The Signing Ceremony was attended by the Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Kingdom of Sweden Munkh-Ulzii
Tserendorj, Director for Asia and the Pacific at the International IDEA Leena
Rikkila Tamang, and other officials.
The Asia Reference Center for Election Observation will serve as a regional center to promote principles and methods for observing democratic and fair elections, improve observation methodologies, introduce best practices based on research and analysis, empower observers, and improve the quality of election observation reports and recommendations.
