MoU signed to support sustainable forest management in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. GIZ announced the launch
of forest activities and its best practices by establishing pilot sites under
the Specific objective 2 of the ‘Sustainable Resilient Ecosystem and
Agriculture Management in Mongolia (STREAM)’ project, co-financed by the European
Union and the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development
(BMZ).
On March 4, a MoU was signed with the Khentii aimag’s
Department of Environment and Tourism to stimulate sustainable forest in
Mongolia by establishing demonstration sites for good practices of forest and rangeland
management and by facilitating a cross-sectoral communication and resources
planning.
Under the framework of MoU, the parties will work together
to increase the capacity of forestry specialists, strengthen cross-sectoral
planning and introduce innovations and technology.
