Training organized on rehabilitation methods for mineral deposits

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 26, a training session on rehabilitation of mineral deposits along the Tuul River was jointly organized by the UN Development Program, Ministry of Environment and Tourism, General Agency for Specialized Inspection, and ‘Nogoon Titem’ LLC.
Through the training, entities in the mining sector that are running operations along the Tuul River, and corresponding government officers were informed about the corresponding legislation, regulations, and standards, methods for rehabilitation, and ways to implement the standardized methods in the region.
In the framework of the UNDP project on environmental governance, the ‘Methodology for rehabilitation at mineral deposits located along the Tuul River’ document developed by ‘Nogoon Titem’ LLC and model rehabilitation works were introduced at the session.
