Environment Minister discusses cooperation with Director of KfW Office Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On February 26, Minister of
Environment and Tourism N.Urtnasan had a meeting with Director of KfW (German Credit
Institute for Reconstruction) Office in Ulaanbaatar Michael Sumser-Hellstern to
discuss joint projects and programs and issues to address in the future.
Emphasizing that Mongolia and Germany have been cooperating
in environment, especially forest and protected area management and climate
change, for years, Minister N.Urtnasan undertook to further put focus on the effectiveness
of projects and programs and environmental conservation.
Mr. Michael Sumser-Hellstern said, as part of the Biodiversity
and Adaptation to Climate Change project, efforts are being made to safeguard
the environment, especially special protected areas in Mongolia through aid
totaling USD 39 million and called for more attention to the implementation of
the project.
