Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Today, the Ulaanbaatar Environmental Department joined the International Ranger Federation (IRF) as a member. Founded in 1992 in the UK, the IRF unites 65 ranger associations from national, state and territorial entities, as well as rangers around the world.

The IRF works to strengthen the social protection, safety and capacity building of rangers in the fight against illegal use of natural resources, improve working conditions, cooperate with local communities, support broader use of technology, and address the challenges of women rangers. By joining the IRF, rangers of the capital city will now be able to participate in projects and programs aimed at addressing these issues.

Since 2018, the Ulaanbaatar Environmental Department has been actively involved in preparing an e-learning module for rangers in Ulaanbaatar in cooperation with the Environmental Campus Foundation, participating in the ninth World Rangers Forum and training to share experiences.
