Tourist complex to be established around 100 Monks Cave

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 2020-2024 Action Plan of the Government of Mongolia includes a goal to support tourism regionally and develop tourism products and services based on local natural and cultural resources such as the local communities and special protected areas. As part of the goal, tourism service infrastructures will be developed in special protected areas of Uvs, Khyargas, Khar-Us, Ulaagchnii Khar, Terkhiin Tsagaan, and Khuisiin 8 Lakes and Burkhan Khaldun and Bogdkhan Mountains, and Altai Tavan Bogd, Gorkhi-Terelj, and Khugnu-Tarni National Parks in 2021-2024.

 

Specifically, sanitary facilities, car and bicycle parking lots, camping and accommodation sites with entertainment facilities, and travel information centers will be built through public and private partnerships and projects and programs including those funded from state and local budgets. The general plan for the first tourist complex - 100 Monks Cave Tourist Complex - to be established in Gorkhi-Terelj National Park in 2021 has been developed.
