2000 trees and shrubs planted on the National Tree Planting Day

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In accordance with the Presidential Decree issued in 2010, ‘the National Tree Planting Day’ has been marked on the second Saturday of May and October every year since 2010.
This year’s public tree planting event took place at the National Garden Park last Saturday, October 10. Minister of Environment and Tourism D.Sarangerel, delegates of the Citizens’ Representatives Khural of the Capital City (City Council), Municipality of Ulaanbaatar City, and its affiliated departments and services took part in the event and planted trees.
Moreover, over 50 citizens and entities including the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, the Bank of Mongolia, the General Authority for State Registration, “Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi” JSC, instructors of the Geology and Mining School of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, school No. 93, Jur Ur LLC and Max Urguu LLC planted 2000 trees and shrubs of 10 species with the views to protect drinking water source and increasing green facility and gardening.
A total of 139,717 trees have been planted so far at the National Garden Park and the growth rate is 98.5 percent.
