Mongolia willing to learn from Japan's experiences in tourism

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSSAME/ Minister of Environment and Tourism D.Sarangerel today, August 12, received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Kobayashi Hiroyuki, discussing bilateral cooperation, quality in the tourism industry, airline ticket price and winter tourism development.


“I assume that Mongolia has abundant potential to boost its tourism industry, especially, there are a plenty of favorable conditions to develop winter tourism in Mongolia and not to mention the numerous factors, including weather conditions, nomadic way of life and customs that attract tourists’ attention. We will always be pleasant to partner in this area and provide support on it,” Mr. Kobayashi Hiroyuki says.


In turn, Minister D.Sarangerel noted her appraisal for Japanese assistance and support rendered to Mongolia and its contribution made in the environment sector. “The Government of Mongolia has set the tourism industry as one of its economic priority areas. Japan’s tourism industry holds an abundant experience and Japan is one of the most popular travel destinations. Therefore, we are willing to learn experience from Japan’s tourism industry, particularly, in areas of quality, safety and services of tourism industry, tour guide training and development of tourism products. And we are ready to render support at any level of bilateral environment and tourism partnership,” said Minister Sarangerel.
