International Ulaanbaatar Marathon postponed due to COVID-19

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. With support from the Ulaanbaatar Governor’s Office, the annual International Ulaanbaatar Marathon takes place every third Saturday of May to promote public health through physical activity and to increase the number of professional and amateur runners.
However, head of the organizing team of the annual event and Deputy Governor of the Capital City in charge of social development issues Sh.Ankhmaa has issued an statement that this year’s marathon has been put off until the end of the COVID-19 related nationwide restrictions and the heightened state of alert to prevent and fight against the novel coronavirus infections.
The International Ulaanbaatar Marathon has been taking place annually in Ulaanbaatar since 2014 and the number of runners to partake in the event has grown year to year. Last year’s Ulaanbaatar Marathon event attracted over 32,000 runners and over 400 of them came from 30 foreign countries.
