Fifteen percent of total territory covered by snow

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Fifteen percent of the total
territory of the country has been blanketed with thick snow. Due to heavy snowfall
in Uvs aimag, the spring condition is likely to worsen. More than 40 percent of
the expected 1.4 million offspring of the aimag have been delivered.
Herders of Umnugobi, Ulziig, Tarialan, Naranbulag and Khovd
soums of the aimag started their spring grazing, but have been affected by heavy
snowfall and snowstorms that made some herders got lost.
In Khovd aimag, 30 percent of the expected offspring have been delivered. Hay and fodder are being sold to herders of the aimag at a 50-percent reduced price. As the aimag has a sufficient reserve of hay and fodder, hay and fodder are being delivered to Uvurkhangai, Khuvsgul and Uvs aimags that are suffering harsh spring conditions.
