‘Ulaanbaatar District Heating Project’ signed

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. ‘Ulaanbaatar
District Heating Project’ was signed on January 10 within the general financial
agreement established between the government of Mongolia and European Bank for
Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
From Mongolian side,
Minister of Finance Ch.Khurelbaatar signed the loan agreement and Executive
Director of Ulaanbaatar District Heating Company (UBDH) G.Bayarsaikhan signed
the project agreement.
With the soft loan worth
USD10 million and grant worth USD5 million, the project to be implemented in
2020-2024 will focus on modernizing the city’s heating infrastructure, expanding the scope of heating supply by installing heating equipment to newly planned areas
of the city, expanding SCADA control system as well as others.
Within EBRD’s
technical cooperation, USD1.6 million was decided to be spent on capacity
building of the UBDH and conducting renewable energy research.
