Minister seeks media cooperation on environmental protection

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Member of Parliament and Minister of Environment and Tourism N.Tserenbat has called for increased media coverage of environment issues and nature conservation.
The call comes after the recent announcement of a contest to design a box to store scrap batteries within an environment initiative called ‘Green Passport’, forwarded by the Minister with an aim to raise awareness on nature conservation among the younger generation.
“Within the ‘Green Passport’ initiative, all media are encouraged to cooperate with the Ministry and address the negative impacts of scrap batteries on environment. In order to improve ecological education of the public and within their social responsibility, TV stations are requested to dedicate one percent time slot, newspapers one percent space and news websites a special column for environment. Let’s change our attitude, the Minister said, expressing his confidence that his call will turn to action.
