Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On March 5, authorities of Mongolian Academy of Sciences  (MAS) exchanged views with delegates of China TianYing Inc on establishing a waste-to-energy plant in Ulaanbaatar city.
During the meeting, Chinese company delegates introduced its technology of waste incineration power generation. Earlier, they introduced the project to the advisor to the Prime Minister, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city and authorities of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.

According to delegates of China TianYing Inc, it is possible for Ulaanbaatar city to operate a plant to process 500-1000 tons of waste daily and produce 10MW energy on average. If relevant authorities decide to implement the project, it is potential to build the waste-to-energy plant under the agreement with the Governor Office of Ulaanbaatar, without spending any money from Mongolia.

B.Regdel, President of the MAS, said: “In recent years, we talk much about air pollution. However, the pollution caused by waste is harmful like air pollution because our country buries its waste in landfills. Rotten waste emits poisonous gas and pollutes water under soil. Therefore, an establishment of the waste-to-energy plant is urgent matter for Ulaanbaatar city. The Government and municipal administration need to conduct a tender by receiving relevant recommendations from scientific organizations. For this purpose, we are getting familiar with this Chinese technology.”

China TianYing Inc is a comprehensive waste solutions provider in investment, construction, operation and maintenance of plants for municipal solid waste incineration power generation, steam production sludge treatment, construction waste treatment as well as others.
