NEMA Head attends Asian Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Major-General T.Badral, Head of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), attended the Asian Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction 2017 co-organized by Asian Disaster Reduction Center (ADRC), the Ministry of the Emergency Situation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Cabinet Office of Government of Japan, in Baku, Azerbaijan on October 02-03.

Masanori Hamada, Chairman of the ADRC, expressed his gratitude towards the Ministry of Emergency Situation of Azerbaijan for co-organizing the conference for two days and emphasized the importance of implementing ADRC’s actions for the next 20 years in connection to the increasing number of natural disaster in Asia.

The conference held discussions under the topics ‘National and regional plan on reducing disaster risk’, ‘Overcoming large-scale disaster’, ‘Taking effective measures’, ‘Reducing disaster risk’ and ‘Advanced technologies on easing the adaptation process to climate change’ in order to implement Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction documents.

Aside from the conference, Major General T.Badral attended the ADRC's board meeting and exchanged views on ADRC’s action plan.
