Kh.Battulga leads poll in preliminary results

The preliminary results of the second round of presidential election show the Democratic Party candidate Kh.Battulga leading the poll with 50.7 percent of the total votes, with the Mongolian People’s Party candidate M.Enkhbold earning 41 percent support. Blank ballot papers constitute 8.3 percent of the total votes.
Nationwide voter turnout stands at 60.41 percent which means that there will be no repeated polling. The preliminary results of the presidential election will be determined later in the day, July 8, after some 100 polling stations submit their results and vote count of overseas polls completes.
