Unemployment rate in statistics
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At end of April 2016, the number of active job seekers was 45.7 thousand out of whom 23.9 thousand were women.
The number of the unemployed was 33.4 thousand at end of last April which decreased by 0.5 thousand or 1.5% against the previous year, and by 2.0 thousand or 5.8% against March.
The results of the Labor Force Survey conducted in the 1st quarter of 2016 show, out of 1232.8 thousand people belonging to economically active population aged over 15 over at national level, 665.0 thousand or 53.9 percent were men, while 567.8 thousand or 46.1% were women.
The survey recorded 143.5 thousand jobless people, including 89.0 thousand or 62.0% male, and 54.5 thousand or 38.0% female.
Unemployment rate is 11.6 percent at the national level which increased by 4.2 points compared to the same period of the previous year.
