Mongolian satellite in orbit MONGOLSAT-1

Mongolia now has a satellite in orbit with the establishment of an agreement with Bermuda-based Asia Broadcast Satellite (ABS) to co-brand its ABS-2A satellite as MONGOLSAT-1.
A certificate on the co-branding agreement was presented by ABS CEO Thomas Choi to Parliament Speaker Mr M.Enkhbold today.
The ABS-2A satellite entered commercial use in January, 2017. Mongolia’s first co-branded satellite MONGOLSAT-1 will be facilitated to obtain agriculture, environment, mining and emergency related data. The capacity of MONGOLSAT-1 will be used to launch a nationwide digital satellite TV, telecommunications and broadband service.
Having been active in the satellite industry for 11 years, ABS Company is a leading global satellite operator with a fleet of 7 satellites.
