Auditor General of Mongolia Meets ADB Delegation to Strengthen Audit Collaboration

Ulaanbaatar, November 14, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Auditor General of Mongolia, Magnaisuren Sandag, received a delegation led by Ruth Farrant, Director of the Financial Management Department at the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
During the meeting, Auditor General Magnaisuren expressed his appreciation for ADB’s continued support in strengthening the institutional capacity and enhancing audit effectiveness within the State Audit Institution. Auditor General noted that 29 ADB-financed projects and programs are currently being implemented in Mongolia. In response, Director Ruth Farrant affirmed the Bank’s commitment to expanding the scope of financial statement audits undertaken by the Mongolian National Audit Office.
Director Farrant highlighted that, under ADB’s technical assistance, the program “Strengthening Performance Audit Capacity in Asia and the Pacific” is being implemented within the State Audit Institution. She commended the National Audit Office for its leadership in advancing performance audit practices, adopting modern methodologies, and promoting regional knowledge exchange – efforts increasingly recognized as a model across the Asia-Pacific region.
She further emphasized that the State Audit Institution’s digital transformation agenda is well aligned with ADB’s strategic priorities. In her role as Director of the Financial Management Department, she committed to providing strategic guidance and support for the implementation of initiatives that foster technological innovation and capacity development in public sector auditing.
