President Khurelsukh and Minister Enkhbayar Visit 'Chig' Brand Factory

Ulaanbaatar, November 14, 2025 /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and Minister of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry Enkhbayar Jadamba visited the factory of “Brand Gutal” LLC, the producer of the national footwear brand “Chig,” and reviewed its operations.
The company manufactures more than 30 types of everyday footwear under the men’s and women’s “Chig” brand and the children’s “Maza” brand, using cattle hide, sheepskin, and goatskin. As a national manufacturer, it supplies both domestic and export markets. The company produces around 15,000 pairs of shoes annually and has begun promoting its products abroad based on research and development tailored to local climatic conditions and consumer needs.
The management of Brand Gutal LLC, whose mission is to replace imports with eco-friendly domestic production and to expand exports, presented proposals to President Khurelsukh and Minister Enkhbayar on strengthening support for national manufacturing through increased domestic procurement. Their proposals included establishing “National Corners” within major retail chains and franchise stores, and ensuring that school uniforms, footwear, and the shoes used by healthcare workers are sourced from reliable national producers.
