Mongolian Cyclists Continue Medal Run at Asian Road Cycling Championships

Ulaanbaatar, February 10, 2026 /MONTSAME/. At the Asian Road Cycling Championships currently underway in Al Qassim, Saudi Arabia, Mongolian cyclists have continued their strong medal-winning performance, following the opening success by International Master Temuulen Kh.


In the men’s masters category (ages 55–59), International Master Shinebayar D. claimed gold in the 20 km race, bringing Mongolia’s national anthem to the podium, while Tumendemberel S. secured bronze. In the men’s 65–69 age group, International Master Ankhbayar G. also won a gold medal. In the women’s individual time trial over 15.8 km, Sports Master  Erdenetuya D. earned a bronze medal in the 45–49 age category.


With this result, Shinebayar has become a two-time Asian champion, while Ankhbayar captured his eighth career medal at the Asian Championships—all of them gold. Tumendemberel now holds three Asian Championship medals, and Erdenetuya became a two-time medalist.


Mongolia is represented by 23 athletes competing across seven age categories at the 2026 Asian Road Cycling Championships. The competition will conclude on February 13.
