Mongolian Team at Winter Olympics Opening

Ulaanbaatar, February 9, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The opening ceremony of the 25th Winter Olympic Games took place at San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy, with a capacity of 80,000 spectators. Ariunbat Altanzul and Ariuntungalag Enkhbayar led the Mongolian team as flag bearers.
The organizers held the opening across multiple venues, with delegations also marching in competition zones in Predazzo, Livigno, and Cortina d’Ampezzo. The Games bring together more than 3,000 athletes from 92 countries, competing for 116 sets of medals in 16 sports. Three athletes represent Mongolia at this Olympics.
Italy hosts the Olympic Games for the fourth time in its history.
From Mongolia, Ariunbat Altanzul competes in alpine skiing, while Achbadrakh Batmunkh and Ariuntungalag Enkhbayar compete in cross-country skiing.
