Ulaanbaatar, January 10, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Preparations for reserve meat sales are currently 95 percent complete. Beginning January 20, 2026, reserve meat will be sold at 410 locations across the capital city.
According to the Governor’s Office of the Capital of Ulaanbaatar, beef will be sold at 15,000 tugriks per kilogram and mutton at 13,000 tugriks per kilogram. A total of 5,000 tons of reserve meat have been prepared this year, comprising 40 percent beef and 60 percent mutton. Expanded reserve meat sales will be organized from February 7 to 17 at 18 locations in the capital, ahead of the Mongolian Lunar New Year. Regular quality and safety controls are being conducted, with two scheduled and unscheduled inspections carried out in January.
To meet the
spring meat demand of the capital’s population, the Department of Governance
Office of Ulaanbaatar City prepares reserve meat annually. Within this
framework, enterprises were selected from June last year to supply reserve
meat. Of the 15 companies that participated in the selection process, nine were
chosen and are currently preparing reserve meat.
