Painter Orgilbold Lkhagva Holds 11th Solo Pastel Exhibition
Art & Culture
Ulaanbaatar, January 9, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The solo exhibition “Nature's Charisma” by Honored Artist of Mongolia and member of the Mongolian Artists’ Union Orgilbold Lkhagva, is on display at the exhibition hall of the Mongolian Artists’ Union.
Over the past three years, the artist has traveled across Mongolia’s most scenic natural landscapes and created more than 90 artworks using oil pastel, all of which are now being presented to the public. Dedicated entirely to the oil pastel medium, the exhibition offers viewers a vivid experience of nature’s extraordinary allure, the harmony of colors, and its unique, unrepeatable rhythm.
At the opening ceremony, artist Orgilbold L. stated, “While my earlier works focused on realistic depictions of nature, this time I aimed to incorporate a more abstract perspective into my art. As a result, this exhibition has become more distinctive than my previous ones.”
Oil pastel is a technique that gradually transitions between light and heavy tones using a limited color range, and only a small number of artists in Mongolia specialize in this medium.
At the opening, People’s Painter of Mongolia Dunburee G. remarked, “This exhibition is truly unique. The artist has successfully discovered and expressed his own artistic tone and rhythm.”
Artist Orgilbold graduated from the Mongolian National University of Education in 2006 with a degree in Fine Arts and Design Education and has since worked as a freelance artist. He has held 10 solo exhibitions to date, most of them dedicated to oil pastel works. In 2018, he established the "Altan Nutag Art Gallery" in Zaamar soum, Tuv aimag, making it the first soum in Mongolia to have a fine arts gallery.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until January 17, 2026.
