President Khurelsukh: Mongolia’s International Standing Continued to Rise in 2025
Politics
Ulaanbaatar, January 1, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The President of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, addressed the nation at the turn of the year 2025–2026, extending his New Year’s greetings to the people. In his address, the president said:
“Esteemed
citizens of our country,
Dear Mongolian brothers
and sisters,
At this precious moment as the
wheel of human history bids farewell to one year, I extend my heartfelt New
Year’s greetings to all of you who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new
year together with your warm families and loved ones. The New Year, as the
beginning of all things new, is a celebration of all humankind—a time when
families, households, and entire nations reflect on their work and
achievements, look ahead to the coming year with renewed energy, hope, and
aspiration, and celebrate in happiness and joy.
In recent years, humanity and the global community have
been living through a complex period of geopolitical and geostrategic
challenges, marked by conflicts and tensions. Although this international
situation has had adverse effects on our country’s economy and the livelihoods
of our people, the outgoing year of 2025 has been a year filled with historic
events for us Mongolians. We expanded and strengthened our foreign relations
and cooperation, achieved progress in agriculture and food production, and
promoted our history, culture, and heritage to the world.
As a result of the joint
efforts of our citizens, producers, and government, our economy grew by 6
percent, gross domestic product per capita exceeded USD 7,000, trade and
investment increased, foreign exchange reserves reached USD 6 billion, and
Mongolia’s sovereign credit rating rose to a historic high. Within the
framework of the nationwide “Food Revolution” national movement, implemented to
ensure food supply and food security—key guarantees of national security—53 new
food-processing factories were commissioned, and more than 1,000 new types of
food products were introduced to the market.
In addition, the “White Gold”
program, aimed at processing raw materials from our livestock and bringing them
into economic circulation, has been successfully implemented, with tangible
results now beginning to emerge. On behalf of the Mongolian state, I express my
deep gratitude to business owners, producers, and all our people who are
working proactively for the development of our homeland, creating jobs for
citizens, supporting state policies and decisions, shouldering heavy
responsibilities, and making valuable contributions to the growth of our
national economy.
In the outgoing year of 2025,
Mongolia’s foreign policy and international relations were further expanded and
strengthened. State visits that will be recorded prominently in history were
successfully conducted, Mongolia’s standing on the international stage continued
to rise, and our rich history, proud culture, and reputation were introduced to
the world—making it a truly historic and remarkable year. Our scholars,
children and youth, and representatives of the arts and sports distinguished
themselves on the international stage, elevating the prestige of our country
and the value of the Mongolian people, astonishing the world with their
intellect, perseverance, courage, and talent, and bringing pride and joy to the
Mongolian nation.
Esteemed
citizens,
In the coming new year, let
us, as a state and as a united people, further strengthen our achievements,
carefully assess our successes and shortcomings, cherish unity, support what is
right, uphold traditions and values, and work together as a nation for the
development of Mongolia. On this festive evening, when every Mongolian heart
beats in unison in anticipation of the new year, I extend my sincere wishes to
our people, wishing you love and respect, continued success and achievements,
and an abundance of motivation and inspiration.
At this special moment of the year’s transition, I extend
special congratulations, as Head of State, and express deep gratitude on behalf
of our people to our brave border guards protecting our sacred frontiers; our
peacekeepers representing Mongolia in the service of global peace; doctors,
nurses, and healthcare workers standing watch over the health of our citizens;
and civil servants, members of the armed forces, police, and emergency services
who are faithfully fulfilling their responsible duties to ensure the safety and
security of our homeland and people.
In the coming year of 2026,
may every citizen live in peace, every household be filled with happiness and
success, may the strength and spirit of Mongolia flourish, and may the world be
at peace. Under the eternal power of the Blue Sky, may Mongolia prosper and
rise.
Happy New Year.”
