Ulaanbaatar Designates 2026 as Year of Supporting Entrepreneurs

Ulaanbaatar, December 31, 2025 /MONTSAME/. A regular executive meeting of Ulaanbaatar city officials was held on December 30, 2025, during which participants reviewed the outcomes of 2025 and discussed new plans, activities, and projects for 2026.
During the
meeting, Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Nyambaatar Khishgee
stated that following the declaration
of 2025 as the Year of Construction, a number of major projects had been
launched. Within the framework of the "Selbe 20-Minute City" project,
construction has begun on housing for 8,575 households.
“As of today,
foundation works have been completed on 82 of the planned 113 residential
blocks. Preparatory works for the Tuul Expressway are now 80 percent complete.
Preparations are under way to launch the tender for the Ring Road, while the
second-stage tender to select the metro construction contractor has been
officially issued. For the cable car transport project, 18 support pillars have
been installed, and overall project implementation has reached 54 percent.
Contracts have
been signed with partners to construct Thermal Power Plant V and a
waste-to-energy incineration facility, and the necessary documentation has been
finalized. Ulaanbaatar will designate 2026 as the ‘Year of Supporting Entrepreneurs’
and will provide comprehensive support to businesses. We will work closely with
national producers, manufacturers, small and medium-sized enterprises, and
construction companies to grow together.

this, we will change the approach of public institutions and reduce excessive
administrative stages first of all,” the mayor said.
